ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheik Rasheed on Tuesday cautioned of more psychological warfare-related episodes in the government capital after a cop was shot dead and two others were harmed at a designated spot.
The Monday night weapon fight, in which two assailants were likewise fired dead, began when two shooters riding a bike started shooting at a police checkpoint nearby the Karachi Company police headquarters.
"This was not an episode of dacoity or burglary. Fear-based oppressors started shooting at them [police officials]. This is a sign for us that dread episodes have begun occurring in Islamabad," he said while addressing writers after the martyred police officer's memorial service petitions.
